Personal Files Related to the Professional Career of James McGregor, 1921–1925

This series consists of the personal files of James McGregor related to his professional work as Supervisor of the Rocky Mountain District of Indian Schools from 1921 to 1922, and as Superintendent of the Rosebud Indian Agency from 1923 to 1925. The records include correspondence, employee efficiency reports and annual reports. A copy of the Rosebud Agency annual report for 1923-1924 includes photographs of students, agency and school staff, and buildings. Other agencies mentioned include the Cheyenne, Fort Lapwai, Fort Peck, and Shoshone. An industrial survey of housing and living conditions in the Blackpipe, Cutmeat and Ponca Districts of the Rosebud Reservation is also included. Each page of the survey gives the name, geographic location, allottee number, age, degree of blood, status, farm and home description, and family size of the allottee. The pages also contain a photograph of the individual or family standing in front of their home.
